IS YOUR STORAGE ORGANISED SUFFICIENTLY?
Analyse your products, and place your fast-moving lines nearest to the packing benches. This allows your most common picking routes to be reduced, therefore saving time. It also helps to have your picking stock on the lower shelves, with the storage stock on the higher shelves. This means that time is not lost when getting out and putting away access equipment for reaching the more upper shelves. By putting clear labels and barcodes on your stock, it reduces mistakes and helps prevent confusion.
WILL YOUR PICKING BE EFFECTIVE?
Picking trolleys are often one of the most overlooked tools in the Warehouse and can be highly effective when designed correctly. Product Orientated carts are designed with the products and Average Order Sizes in mind, therefore ensuring that the trolleys will function correctly, and make the best use of size and space. A good design can also incorporate user-friendly and ergonomic functions, such as fold-out step ladders and comfortable handles.
IS YOUR PACKING PROCEDURE STREAMLINED?
When is a desk not a desk? When it’s a FASTDesk! A bench that Follows FAST and TEMS Methodology is much more likely to make a positive contribution towards warehouse efficiency. The processing stage is all about stock control. Therefore, it can be bolted right next to the packing stage, or segregated further down the line, and the most effective position all depends on the volume of throughput and which Process Format you currently use. Incorporating WMS will also allow you to accurately and effectively manage stock status and locations.
